Storyboard

After some fiddling around with the concepts, I ended up combining elements that worked well from each one into a final storyboard!

(And here I once again smack myself mentally for not practising drawing backgrounds enough -_-;)

Peers mentioned that they were clearly able to see the contrast between Shoo and the room regarding size, and the contrast between Shoo's before and after. Elements of the background and how she moves around the room constructed a character who seemed to be your normal adorable five year old, and this lead to a larger impact regarding her transformation.

Story Board - Concepts

Hello again! I just plan to upload my story board concepts that I had in mind ><

Concept 1

For this concept, I received comments which said that the storyboard flowed well in one direction (to the left). Much like I was, some individuals said that they didn't really see the need in the panning upwards at the end of the sequence.

Concept 2

Because Shoo's face isn't really shown in the first segment of the sequence, people weren't able to fully relate to the character properly. Despite this, the slight shortness shown in Shoo's height was well portrayed as she closed the door, making it look adorable. Many peers welcomed the idea of having a long shot or establishing shot of the room AFTER Shoo's transformation.

Concept 3

A friend got worried when she saw that I would have to animate the bedsheets in a different software: would you have time to do that? Even though we don't have to do the background unless we have time to, the animation itself involves the character moving WITH the background (bed) so it would look awkward without it.
The contrast with the small cute painting and the skull was clear to different individuals which I am glad about!
